LEGO Models of NASA Mars Rover and Helicopter Land in Living Rooms for NASA Mars Exploration

NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory has teamed up with LEGO to create a STEM-themed kit that aims to inspire children’s interest in engineering and space through traditional toys and augmented reality. The LEGO Technic building set is based on the real Perseverance rover and Ingenuity helicopter, which have been exploring Mars’ Jezero Crater since February 2021. The kit allows builders to explore key features of the rover and helicopter, see data returned by the rover, and complete interactive challenges. By teaming up with technology transfer offices and programs, corporations can form strategic alliances with JPL to license intellectual property or gain access to JPL’s engineers and scientists to solve technological problems.
