Luca Vincenzo Maria Salamone has been appointed as the new General Director of the Italian Space Agency (ASI) for the next four years. The decision was made during a meeting of the ASI’s Board of Directors at the Space Center in Matera. Salamone will take over from Fabrizio Tosone and assume his role in November.
Born in Catania in 1972, Salamone holds degrees in Law and Political Science. He is currently a State manager and serves as the Coordinator of the Sea Policies Unit at the Presidency of the Council of Ministers. With a background as a senior naval officer, Salamone has extensive experience in various positions within public administrations and ministerial offices.
