SES Secures Fresh US Military Contract Victory

SES, a global satellite operator, has secured a new contract worth nearly $30m from the US military. The five-year Commercial Satellite Communications Transponded Capacity (CTC) contract was awarded to SES Space & Defense, a subsidiary of SES, and will provide satellite communications capabilities in support of the US Army Warfighter Information Network-Tactical (WINT-T) training activities. The deal will allow the US Army to continue to build and sustain combatant command readiness requirements, as well as enable research and development activities for testing new applications for mobile missions. SES Space & Defense will provide capabilities for the US Army Network Enterprise Technology Command (NETCOM) and the US Army Forces Command (FORSCOM) units to train and prepare a combat-ready, globally responsive Total Force. David Fields, president and CEO of SES Space & Defense, said the company’s experience in network integration would ensure its customers’ advantage in any critical mission scenarios.
