Comtech, a leading provider of communication solutions, has recently announced that it has secured multiple orders for its CDM-780 high-speed software defined modems. The modems will be delivered to next-generation satellite operators and the US Department of Defense, who will assess, evaluate and field them in various scenarios. The aim is to provide end-users with access to high-speed connectivity in some of the most remote areas of the world.
Comtech’s CDM-780 is one of the highest capacity commercial off-the-shelf gateway SATCOM solutions available today. The modem is designed to adapt and evolve over time to deliver SATCOM services that can transition across high throughput and very high throughput satellite networks, as well as Low Earth Orbit, Medium Earth Orbit, and Geostationary Earth Orbit constellations.
Ken Peterman, President and CEO of Comtech, said: “Our CDM-780 is uniquely positioned to support the blending of communications services across multiple, diverse satellite orbits and networks. These contracts illustrate our continuing technology leadership and fluency in future networking capabilities that can help our customers democratize access to communications and empower individuals, communities, businesses, and governments across the globe.”
The CDM-780 modem is set to revolutionize the way we connect with each other by providing high-speed connectivity in areas where it was previously impossible. With its adaptability and future-proof design, it’s no surprise that Comtech has secured multiple orders for this innovative technology.
