IAI’s DS-SAR Satellite Successfully Launched

The DS-SAR radar satellite, created by Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI), has been successfully launched into space. The satellite was launched on a PSLV-C56 rocket from the Sriharikota launch site in India. Following its entry into orbit, the satellite began transmitting data and underwent preliminary performance tests conducted by IAI engineers. These tests confirmed the correct functioning and performance level of the systems. The satellite will now undergo a series of planned tests before being handed over to its customers in Singapore, DSTA and ST Electronics.

The DS-SAR satellite is the latest addition to IAI’s portfolio of advanced observation satellites. It is based on the experience and expertise gained from developing previous generations of satellites such as OptSat and TecSAR, which have been launched into space since 1988. The SAR sensor payload of the DS-SAR satellite allows for the collection of a wide range of data, including high-resolution imagery, day and night, and in all weather conditions.
