Colombia Seeks Sweden's Assistance to Enhance Space Aspirations - Via Satellite

Sweden and Colombia have signed a letter of intent to collaborate on joint space activities, with the aim of strengthening Colombia’s national space program. The collaboration was announced on June 16th and will see the Swedish Space Corporation (SSC) and the Swedish Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) provide support to Colombia in developing its capabilities in rocket and satellite missions, satellite ground station development, earth observation, and space data analytics for climate research and security. The collaboration will also include the exchange of experience to support the establishment of a Colombian space agency. SSC will offer its support based on its 50 years of experience operating the most versatile space base Esrange in Sweden, as well as its global network of satellite ground stations. The collaboration aims to combat climate change affecting the Amazon rainforest and agriculture sector in Colombia, as well as industrial growth and security in the region.
