Luxembourg Grants Funding for SES O3b mPOWER Access – Through Satellite Technology

Luxembourg’s Parliament has approved a €195m ($213m) funding programme for the country to acquire services from SES’s O3b mPOWER for 10 years. The Medium Earth Orbit (MEO) Global Services (MGS) programme will give Luxembourg and NATO partners access to the MEO constellation for resilient satcom defence and security and disaster recovery. The MGS programme is possible through the US and Luxembourg’s 2022 partnership for commercially contracting satellite communications capabilities through the NATO Support and Procurement Agency. SES CEO Steve Collar welcomed the move as an important step in execution of Luxembourg Government’s defence space strategy.
