The Imajine project, which explores spatial justice across Europe and the UK, has created four scenarios set in 2048 to help policymakers combat regional inequality. The scenarios are not predictions or visions, but plausible futures that challenge assumptions about what lies ahead for Europe’s regions. The scenarios identify activity in outer space as a signal of potential change, with research on space economics finding that the sustainability and environmental impact of space activity is already an urgent global challenge.
