First images of EOS SAT-1 satellite processed by Deimos

24th May 2023 – The first image of EOS SAT-1 has been successfully processed within DEIMOS Ground Segment solution gs4EO.

EOS SAT-1 is the first of the 7-satellite EOS SAT agri-focused constellation powered by EOS Data Analytics. The satellite was launched in January 2023, and the first image, disclosed yesterday, has been produced as part of the initial commissioning activities.

The first satellite’s pan-sharpened images have a resolution of 1.5 meters and cover a total area of 2,550 square kilometers in the Spanish province of Segovia.

Deimos implemented the initial version of the data production chain for EOS SAT-1 during 2022. In the months following the launch of the mission, Deimos has been qualifying the performances of the systematic image processing service and providing Commissioning support to fine tune it up to the best achievable quality.

Thanks to the modularity and configurability of the GS4EO product suite, on which EOS SAT data production service is based, Deimos was able to fast-track its deployment in less than 6 months, in time for EOS SAT first satellite launch and commissioning phase.
