Raytheon Technologies is working on Joint All Domain Command and Control (JADC2), a US Department of Defense initiative that aims to put intelligence from any sensor in the hands of any military operator or commander who needs it. The initiative is part of a wider move towards multi-domain operations, which uses commercial-style data networks to collect, process and distribute information within seconds. The company is developing autonomous sensors, open systems that use multiple types of waveforms and networks to communicate, and innovative ways to manage and secure data amid the rigours of battle. Artificial intelligence and machine learning will be used to fuse data from thousands of sensors and convert it into actionable battlefield intelligence.
