Space Operations Command Plans to Expand ISR Element Further

Space Operations Command (SPOC) is expanding its Space Delta element, which focuses on intelligence to inform space operations for the US Space Force. SPOC has recently added an analysis squadron and plans to establish two more squadrons within the next year, according to Lt. Gen. Stephen Whiting, commander of SPOC. The new squadrons are part of Space Delta 7, which focuses on tactical and operational intelligence for the detection, characterisation and targeting of adversary space capabilities. Whiting said that everything SPOC does must be done relative to the threat, and so it must have a robust intelligence enterprise well integrated with its operating forces that explains that threat.
