Leidos and NASCAR Collaborate for Lunar Rover Race at High Speeds

Leidos, a Fortune 500® science and technology leader, has teamed up with NASCAR to compete in a new moon race. The partnership will focus on speed, safety, and reliability, and the design and technology of the Lunar Terrain Vehicle were unveiled during a special event at the Space Foundation’s 38th annual Space Symposium. Leidos CEO Roger Krone said the collaboration between the two companies takes them into uncharted territory, just like their rover will do for NASA and its astronauts. Leidos is committed to supporting NASA’s ambitious plans for lunar exploration, and has submitted a bid for the Human Landing System Sustaining Lunar Development contract. NASCAR Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer Pete Jung said the partnership made sense as both companies are known for exciting innovations in distinctive fields.
