Boeing Delivers Second Set of O3b mPOWER Satellites to SES

SES, the content connectivity service provider, has received the third and fourth O3b mPOWER satellites from Boeing [NYSE: BA]. The satellites are set to launch to medium Earth orbit (MEO) from Cape Canaveral, Florida, and will provide fibre-like broadband connectivity to people worldwide. The satellites will join the first two already in orbit and are part of a contract for 11 O3b mPOWER satellites to be delivered to SES. However, only six satellites are required in equatorial MEO to provide global connectivity services. The O3b mPOWER satellites are all-digital with a 702X software-driven payload, offering customers flexibility and the unique advantage to change services and markets to meet data demands. Boeing teams are introducing efficiencies into the manufacturing process, with seven more satellites in production. The first two O3b mPOWER satellites launched in December 2022.
