Dawn Aerospace has signed an agreement with the German-based space mission broker, HOSTmi to broker Dawn’s suite of suborbital flight services.
Targeting payload owners in Germany and wider Europe, the deal sees HOSTmi brokering hundreds, potentially thousands of suborbital flights for microgravity research, atmospheric research, satellite sensor validation flights and ‘in-space’ product marketing on the Dawn Mk-II vehicle.
HOSTmi has built an online broker platform that connects payload owners and carriers, such as launch providers and spacecraft integrators, matching space experiments and payloads with suitable flight opportunities worldwide. With transparency at its core, this is different to the highly fragmented and complex acquisition processes currently seen in today’s market, especially regarding suborbital flights.
“Dawn are offering our users up to three suborbital flights to 100km in a single day”, said Pouya Haschemi, HOSTmi Managing Director. “This type of availability and capability is unheard of.”
As well as reaching altitudes of 100 km, Dawn’s Mk-II has the ability to consistently fly horizontally across an altitude range of 50 – 80 km. This means scientists are gaining access to areas of Earth’s stratosphere previously unattainable with conventional sounding rockets, which pierce straight through. “It’s opening new capabilities to our clients, especially for scientific researchers wanting to rapidly test and iterate new technologies” said Haschemi.
